dear me. resonance.
[noun] the prolongation of sound by reflection. a vibration of large amplitude produced by a relatively small vibration near the same frequency of vibration as the natural frequency of the resonating system. oscillation induced in a physical system when it is affected by another system that is itself oscillating at the right frequency. For example, a swing will swing to greater heights if each consecutive push on it is timed to be in rhythm with the initial swing. Radios are tuned to pick up one radio frequency rather than another using a resonant circuit that resonates strongly with the incoming signal at only a narrow band of frequencies. The soundboards of musical instruments, contrastingly, are designed to resonate with a large range of frequencies produced by the instrument. *kope from dictonaries* xD
that's our concert's name. how exciting. unsarcasmistically exciting. i can't wait to get out on the stage to showcase music for others' ears... pleasure. excitement. climatic. no, not that way... the music way. can't wait for 15th august...! gah!
out repertoire (what a disgrace; i can't spell the word! is it like that?):
Danse Bacchanale; beautiful solo by Breyann Oboe. this song rocks! it's so exciting and all and mysterious, as if from tchaikovsky.
Hanover Festival; currently sick of this song. syf song.
Stayin' Alive/I Need to be in Love; wtf i hate pop songs by bands. sheesh, they're lame. Breyann soloing again and Nathan conducting. (wtf times 3)
Lux Aurumque; oooh, beautiful song with pure dynamics and wrong chords. still sounds nice. conducted by a doctor. (music doctor, not pharmical.)
Miss Saigon; some prostitute mocie song thing. don't really like it although i'll have fun blasting high notes during our concert. kekeke... especially the ending.
Main Street Celebration; cheerful? bouncy? melodious? with an emo part in the middle? apparently the emo part was s'posed t'be a flute solo. but then again, i mayn't dare to play it...
Pirates of the Carribean;
this is what i'm talking 'bout. love this song. a medley from At World's End. i'd rather play The Compass actually. bright fantasic (originated from 'fantasy') melody... but PotC's equally good, i guess. too bad we aren't playing the first movement. 'twas supposed t'be when all the pirate-prisoners sang their dark, haunting melody...
oh well. that's about it. band practice tomorrow. and i'm sleeping late everyday. trying to catch some winks during practice with my JUNIOR poking me to play. *glare* goodnight...
